What made you decide to start up your own business?
I was frustrated with the gung-ho “if it barely works then it works” attitude to development demonstrated by other companies. I wanted to do things differently.
What are your plans for the business this year?
To increase the consultancy and retained services contracts held by the business.
What is the single most important thing that sets your business apart from the competition?
There’s a different approach to development at Commit – using cutting edge technologies and agile development to get the job done in an efficient way. Remote working helps keep overheads down and subsequently bring down overall project costs
What do you like to do in your free time?
I’m into music and sports. I’ve recently caught the travelling bug.
What do you love most about having your own business?
The autonomy – the freedom to work when and where it’s convenient.
What’s the worst part about your job?
I hate the sales aspect.
What would be your plan B?
The backup is always go back into full time freelancing or even a full time job
What was your first impression of Desk?
The decor really makes Desk stand out. It’s a really cool space, relaxed with friendly people.
What do prefer about Desk in comparison to other commercial office spaces?
I like the relaxed nature of the place. The fact that it’s constantly changing in layout and decor keeps things interesting.
What do you enjoy about coworking?
Hearing others talking about what they’re doing or looking to achieve is a real motivator.
