Long Handle Olive Spoon Strainer,Cherry Spoon With Drain Hole,Small Jar Pickle Pick Serving Scoop
$ 4.22
I was introduced to the concept of an olive spoon about 20 years ago when my MIL brought some back as gifts from Africa. That one is made of wire with beads on the handle and the bowl of the spoon is wire in a spiral and shaped into a basket. That poor spoon is looking pretty worn and the wire gets kind of crusty. I don’t think it’s the best quality wire. And I’ve been afraid for a few years that it was going to fall apart.So when I saw this on Vine, I grabbed it! I was a little worried because my old olive spoon is more of a ladle – it dips down whereas this is a spoon and works a little differently. Turns out it works fine. It’s a slightly different motion, but not difficult.One thing is that if you buy your capers in those thin bottles, the spoon likely won’t fit into the jar. But that’s just a good reason to buy the larger jar of capers. Yes, I love capers!The quality of this spoon is very good. The balance is good. The slotted (?) bottom works well to drain the brine from what you are fishing out.It’s a pretty good buy. Not cheap but not outrageous. And it looks more expensive then it is when you see it in real life. I think you will be happy with this even if you only use it a few times a year. It does make your life easier.
