Abies concolor ‘Compacta’Compact and Slow Growing White Fir Zones 4-7 ‘Compacta’ is a white fir selection that has powder blue long needles and a dense compact habit. This white fir selection is fairly slow growing reaching 3-4 inches of growth per year. After 10 years, ‘Compacta’ may be 3 ft in height by 1.5 ft in width with an overall pyramidal form. The blue foliage on this evergreen contrasts nicely against any other tree be it red, green, or yellow. This makes ‘Compacta’ a great companion plant with Japanese maples.
