No two fish are identical, with each individual displaying its own unique marbling pattern alongside the characteristic Philippine Blue iridescence. Genetics Blue Marble Angelfish carry the Philippine Blue gene in a double dose alongside at least one copy of the Marble gene, expressed genetically as M/ pb/pb or M/M pb/pb. The M/ notation indicates one copy of Marble alongside the wild type allele, while M/M indicates a double dose which can result in more extensive and dramatic marbling coverage.
