At 45% protein and 16% fat this is a high energy formula designed for cichlids and other aggressive eaters that require substantial nutrition, as well as for demersal feeders such as eels and shrimp that feed at or near the bottom of the aquarium. Suitable for use in both freshwater and marine environments. Who Are They For? An excellent choice for cichlids of all types, larger aggressive community fish, eels, and other bottom feeding species that prefer a sinking food. The quick sinking action ensures bottom feeders receive their share of nutrition without competition from surface feeding tankmates. The formula is also suitable for pond use with larger species. A note for African cichlid keepers: this formula contains land based proteins including poultry and blood meal. African cichlids of all types including Mbuna, Haplochromis, and Peacocks should avoid land based animal proteins as these can cause digestive issues. This formula is better suited to South American cichlids such as Oscars and Jaguars, and other carnivorous or omnivorous species that naturally consume land based prey.
